Daarbij gebruikt 77% van de organisaties een oplossing van VMware. 21% koos voor Microsoft. Vorig jaar gaf nog 83% van de Belgische organisaties aan VMware in huis te hebben voor servervirtualisatie en gebruikte 15% van de organisaties servervirtualisatie van Microsoft. Dit blijkt uit een analyse van Smart Profile op basis van bijna 3400 interviews die zijn gehouden met IT-verantwoordelijken van Belgische bedrijfsvestigingen met 50 of meer medewerkers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weinig groei in servervirtualisatie <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over het algemeen lijkt de Belgische markt voor servervirtualisatie vanaf 2016 te zijn gestagneerd. Zo bedroeg het aandeel van Microsoft in het totale aantal gevirtualiseerde servers in 2011 nog 5 procent ten opzichte van het aandeel VMware van 92 procent. De percentages liggen in vrijwel alle sectoren tussen de 71% en 81%. Verder gebruikt \u00a0\u00a016% van de Belgische organisaties een oplossing voor applicatievirtualisatie. Hierbij gaat het voornamelijk om de Xenapp oplossing van Citrix. Het percentage organisaties dat kiest voor applicatievirtualisatie is het laagst binnen de overheid (8,8%) en het hoogst in de transportsector (26,8%). Dit eerste is deels ook een verklaring voor de lage penetratie (6%) van applicatievirtualisatie in het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest tegenover 21% in Vlaanderen. Walloni\u00eb is hekkensluiter met slechts 4% van de organisaties die applicatievirtualisatie gebruikt.
