Bij deze mijlpaal willen we natuurlijk even stilstaan. Smart Profile was deels aandeelhouder van het bedrijf waar ik voorheen werkte. Zo ging het al vrij snel bergafwaarts met het bedrijf en werden de eerste mensen ontslagen in 2008 en in 2009 volgde de rest. Het doek viel dus ook voor mij en ik moest op zoek gaan naar een nieuwe uitdaging.<\/p>\n<p>Rogier, een oud-collega uit de tijd dat we samen bij Heliview werkte, werkte op dat moment bij Computer Profile als Sales Manager. Ik squashte nog steeds met Rogier, en die vertelde mij dan weleens wat over zijn werk. Rogier stelde voor dat ik eens met Smart Profile ging praten aangezien ze aan het kijken waren of ze intern iets met analytics wilde doen.<\/p>\n<p>Mijn oude werkgever vervulde hiervoor die rol voor Smart Profile, maar dat hield natuurlijk op. En Smart Profile was op zoek naar een nieuwe invulling hiervan. Op een vrijdagmiddag ben ik op kantoor bij Harry en Michiel langs geweest. Om 3 uur ging ik de vergaderruimte in en om half 6 kwam ik eruit.<\/p>\n<p>Die dag erop, want zo is Michiel, had ie al een arbeidsovereenkomst opgesteld. Ik maak analyses voor klanten, en voor Smart Profile. Harry, mede-eigenaar van Smart Profile, was hier ook groot voorstander van. Die wilde dat als mensen Smart Profile googelde ook bij meer dingen uitkwamen dan alleen van \u2018\u2019wij verkopen een database\u2019\u2019. Zo wilde hij dat men ook terecht kwam op informatie zoals persberichten over ERP ontwikkelingen en dergelijke.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-kttuyp9i-47bbbbe5c253d5f2eceb202e4ab69f02 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Het idee was, en is, eigenlijk altijd dat als je klanten hebt die een database afnemen of Tele campagnes doen, dat er eigenlijk ook altijd andere vragen naar boven komen. Zoals <em>\u2018\u2019Ik heb dit bij jullie lopen maar ik heb eigenlijk ook een aantal onderzoeksvragen. Kan ik dat ook niet via jullie laten doen?\u2019\u2019 <\/em>SAP deed dat bijvoorbeeld, maar zo heb ik ook onderzoeksvragen voor RICOH of ATOS onderzocht.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-kttuz27x-f69bd065c0e26bea66881741c294140c '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Eigenlijk ben ik ook een soort van sales support. In voorbereiding voor grotere meetings, als we bijvoorbeeld naar SAP gingen, dan werden daar overzichten voor gemaakt of andere uitkomsten werden gevisualiseerd. Het is niet dat we alleen lijstjes leveren, maar we maken er ook gewoon intelligentie van. Dat is ook vanaf begin onze speech geweest. De extra toegevoegde waarde\/ intelligentie.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-kttv001d-39334af366725091981349b5582db682 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Dus we deden eigenlijk altijd wel een analyse. Dashboards bestonden toen nog niet dus we werkten vaak met Powerpoint. Onze reports maakten we ook in Powerpoint. Het nadeel van een dashboard is als je een powerpoint overzicht wil maken van ERP ontwikkelingen, dan is slide 1 het gebruik naar vertical. Slide 2 is dan hetzelfde ERP gebruik maar dan naar grote klasse en slide 3 is dan weer hetzelfde ERP gebruik maar dan net wat anders. Dat levert uiteindelijk een heel boekwerk op.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-kttv0dk5-0a07219bca23b3108ed8f54a0f420af9 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>We zijn denk ik in 2012 begonnen met dashboards met de voorloper van PowerBI, dat was toen nog PowerView. Dat kon je op twee manieren doen: dat zat in Excelbestanden of je had daar een aparte BI tooling voor nodig. Alles in PowerView was wel wat omslachtiger en daar kwam meer bij kijken. Haha, maar dat moet ik even toelichten. Toen ik mijn tijd bij Smart Profile begon was er enkel een Business Development Center, Salesafdeling en een Supportafdeling. Inmiddels hebben we ook een Products &amp; Services cirkel en Smart Profile Labs (de innovatie afdeling). De mensen uit deze cirkels doen veel dingen die vroeger door Analytics zouden worden opgepakt.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-kttv1g7q-48093afc9dde3b46b333d86640834a79 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Ook omdat de wereld zoveel complexer is geworden de laatste jaren, hebben onze klanten ook ingewikkeldere vragen. Deze vragen kan je niet alleen meer af met een data analist. Zo hebben wij inmiddels ook data scientists en programmeurs.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-kttv1rw1-d51cb852556b1c4a2ae86713989e3a0a '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Om een beetje een beeld te schetsen, het is zo\u2019n 2 jaar geleden dat Michiel vertelde dat Crossyn (huidige partner) wel wat hulp met PowerBI kon gebruiken. Al snel vroeg ik mij af of dit wel de juiste opdracht voor analytics was. Het was namelijk een behoorlijk complexe opdracht. Dat is nu uiteindelijk het Fleet Insights Platform geworden. Niet alles is op te lossen met analyses. De ene keer is het iets om sales te helpen met een klantvraag en die keer daarop is het een CRM-traject met veel matching, en de keer daarop is het iets met de media. Nadat we dit document gedeeld hadden met de marketingafdeling vroegen ze of wij deze bevindingen wilde komen presenteren op een event voor SAP reseller partijen. Dat speelde zich af in een kasteel in Sint-Oedenrode. Michiel en ik zijn daar samen naartoe gegaan en daar was een groot diner, inclusief presentatie en een wijnproeverij.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-kttv486l-e29f36ce7c67cf3f91a8bb9e17aec2bb '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Daar stonden we dan op het podium om de ontwikkelingen rondom het gebied van business intelligence, ERP en Finance te presenteren. Hier werd erg goed op gereageerd. Vervolgens zijn daar ook wel wat klantcontacten ontstaan en hernieuwd. Zo kwam de vraag vanuit Exact of wij hen ook konden helpen met markt-intelligentie. En het is ook leuk dat je in contact komt met de hogere treden uit de organisatie, want die kijken op een andere manier naar informatie en data. Althans, achteraf vond ik dat hartstikke leuk, want op het moment dat je voor een grote groep staat, dan is het best spannend. Zoals met het Smart Profile Labs team. Deze innovatie afdeling zal zich alleen maar verder uit gaan breiden. Dus ik denk dat de organisatie zich iets meer op gaat splitsen.
